WATCH: Mark and Goal of the year revealed

COMEBACK Giant Rebecca Privitelli and gun Demon Kate Hore are this year's recipients of the AFLW Mark of the Year and Coates Hire Goal of the Year.

Privitelli, 25, joined the Giants for the 2018 season but was delisted at season's end and opted to sit out of football last year.

The break was just what Privitelli needed as she earned a reprieve from GWS for the 2020 campaign and she played all seven games and kicked a career-high six goals.

The 25-year-old's nomination for Mark of the Year came in the Giants' season-opening victory over Gold Coast.

Cora Staunton's skied and stray kick at goal went across the face but Privitelli's eyes never left the Sherrin as she elevated to clutch a courageous chest mark as teammates and opponents crashed in.

"I didn’t expect it but I’m very appreciative of those that nominated and voted for me, in particular all our supporters, my family and friends and the club," she said.

"It's an honour, given the quality of other marks taken across the season that equally deserved the recognition.

"I feel incredibly fortunate I was given another opportunity by the club I love being a part of. Despite the season ending the way it did, we took some really positive steps forward as a club and I’m excited to continue building on that."

The other finalists were Adelaide's Courtney Gum (round two) and Docker Ashley Sharp (round six).

Meanwhile, Hore's career-best season in red and blue has another accolade, with the 25-year-old's thrilling goal against Carlton recognised as the season's best.

The All-Australian squad member's gut-busting effort at Alice Springs' Traeger Park in round six started on the wing.

Hore took three bounces and fended off Carlton's Charlotte Wilson in between, before a short chip pass bounced to Melbourne teammate Niamh McEvoy.

McEvoy gave the ball back and watched as Hore snapped a brilliant goal from an acute angle.

"It's definitely not something you set out to achieve when playing a game of footy but it's pretty cool and something I’ll look back on and happily show my kids in the future," Hore said.

"As a team, we grew a lot through the season despite facing plenty of adversity. We showed that it takes a full squad to be a successful team and we’ll take a lot of confidence out of our semi-final win into next season."

Geelong's Richelle Cranston (round one) and Saint Caitlin Greiser (round three) were also in the running for the Goal of the Year.

Fans voted for their favourite mark and goal via and through the Google AFLW vote, and along with the AFLW Awards panel determined the winner for each award.

The Mark of the Year and Coates Hire Goal of the Year voted the best by fans were considered as a single vote, while there were eight members on the Awards panel.
