Former Suncorp Super Netballer Samantha Gooden joins the Cats for NAB AFLW season seven after signing as a cross-code rookie.
After playing at the elite level for Collingwood Magpies, Melbourne Vixens and Adelaide Thunderbirds, Gooden made the switch to footy in 2022, playing with Glenelg in the SANFL Women’s Development league. The 25-year-old former goal shooter will look to ply her trade in the ruck, forming a formidable ruck combination with Olivia Fuller. Gooden has been moved to Geelong’s inactive list for AFLW season seven after coming to a mutual decision with the club as her rehabilitation from a knee injury hasn’t progressed as anticipated.
