Amy McDonald went back-to-back in the club’s best and fairest award after another sensational campaign in season six, further establishing herself as one of the pre-eminent midfielders in the AFLW.
Recruited from Geelong’s VFLW program, McDonald’s evasive skills and ball-winning ability are highlights of her game, along with the fantastic pressure she brings. The 24-year-old averaged 21 disposals and 8.1 tackles a game in season six, as well as 13.1 contested possessions and 5.6 clearances. McDonald was named in the initial All-Australian squad in season six, and was also named the Geelong Cats’ AFLW Fan MVP, presented by Geelong Dairy.
