Picked in the initial All Australian squad of 40 and coming third in Geelong’s Best and Fairest, Maddy McMahon’s AFLW season six saw her go from strength to strength.
McMahon’s ability to read the play and intercept makes her a clear stand out in defence. Averaging 7.4 intercept possessions a game, she is among the best defenders in the competition. McMahon has been moved to Geelong’s inactive list for AFLW season seven after informing the club of her desire to take a break from football.
