Laura Gardiner’s ball-winning ability and pressure acts will not go unnoticed as the young midfielder finds her place in the team.
After playing three games in her debut year, Gardiner was able to impact more games in season six, pulling on the Hoops five times, before playing a standout VFLW season, breaking a VFLW record of being the first player to record 40-plus disposals. Her best performance yielded an incredible 49 disposals. Gardiner averaged 34.9 disposals and 4.6 tackles per game across seven appearances, earning her the Cats’ VFLW Best and Fairest Award.
