Many had deemed Tyla Hanks an exciting up-and-comer, but it became official in 2021 when she was crowned the NAB AFLW Rising Star.
She also earned herself a share of the club’s Best and Fairest Award that year, alongside Karen Paxman. The Dees’ No.5 continued her impressive form last season, cementing her spot among the best contested-ball winners in the league. At just 22 years of age, she was recently elevated to a senior leadership position. Hanks is a natural footballer, who’s classy by hand and foot, and set to be a big part of the club’s future.
