Red and blue runs through Libby Birch’s veins.
The star defender joined Melbourne during the 2019 AFLW Sign and Trade Period, having first played for the Western Bulldogs, and has been making an impact ever since. She received the club’s Trademark Player award in her first season, alongside an All-Australian selection, and returned to the prestigious side in 2022. Birch was a star netballer growing up but decided to give football a crack with some inspiration from her now-teammate Daisy Pearce. The 24-year-old has also been recognised as one of Melbourne’s senior leaders this season.
