Flagged as one of the Saints’ most impressive players this abridged pre-season, the assured winger has put her injury troubles of 2021 behind her to step into a role as one of the Saints’ leading outside players. Freshened up and back to her full running power at the start of 2022, the young Saint finished the season fifth in the club's Best & Fairest before being inducted into this year’s Emerging Leaders Group. McDonald wrote herself into the record books after kicking the club’s first ever goal in 2020, eerily mirroring the historic achievement of inaugural Saint, James McDonald, from 1873.
