2022 has been some year for Deanna Jolliffe.
Another season as captain of the Southern Saints and a VFLW Grand Final berth to boot made it quite memorable, but being drafted to St Kilda alongside close friend and teammate Hannah Stuart comfortably took the cake. The utility had a career-best season for the Southern Saints, spending the second half of the year off half-back to steer her side to the big dance with Essendon. Jolliffe had been on the Saints’ radar ahead of its inaugural season before a broken leg dashed her initial hopes of being drafted.
