From injury replacement player in 2021 to defensive mainstay in 2022, Rebecca Ott has silently affirmed her place in St Kilda’s line-up heading into Season 7.
Ott played every game last season after just the one in her debut year, often grappling with the opposition’s key forwards alongside reigning Best & Fairest Bianca Jakobsson. A member of the AFLW Academy and a former WNBL basketballer for the Melbourne Boomers, Ott’s height and athleticism were looked upon favourably to strengthen the Saints’ defensive stocks. This season, Ott is set to unite with the returning Clara Fitzpatrick for the first time to consolidate St Kilda’s backline brigade.
