Just as her debut season showed, Jess Matin only needs so much as a half-chance to be a threat around goal.
An uncanny tendency to pop up around goal proved to be Matin’s most important trait in her inaugural year, and despite missing out on multiple-goal games in Season 6, she still showed her nous around goal. The small forward registered three goals from her eight appearances this season just gone, coming agonisingly close to another field day against the Eagles with four shots on goal for just one major score. While joining St Kilda’s list initially as a replacement player for Clara Fitzpatrick, the pair are set to come together for the first time in Season 7 after the latter made her return to St Kilda via the Sign & Trade Period.
