Richmond selected 29-year-old Australian basketballer Lavey, with selection No.43 overall (Victorian No.29) at the 2020 NAB AFL Women’s Draft.
The two-time Olympian and Commonwealth Games gold medalist showed she also has a long football career ahead of her, with six outstanding games playing on the wing in her debut AFLW season. Lavey again stood out with her speed, athleticism, and foot skills in her second AFLW season, finishing fifth in the Club’s best and fairest from seven matches.
