AN INACCURATE Vic Metro outfit has beaten Queensland in the NAB Under 18s Championships.
After a tight first half, Vic Metro broke the game open to win 7.17 (59) to Queensland's 4.4 (28) at Metricon Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.
Queensland looked to move the ball quickly out of defence, as players took on their opponents with plenty of dash and confidence, but slowed as they approached their attacking 50, allowing Vic Metro to set up well behind the ball and intercept at will.
The Cockatoo-Motlap twins were exciting at either end of the ground for Queensland, with Litonya laying six tackles and rebounding well out of defence before going down with a right leg injury in the third quarter, while Laquoiya's pressure and skill in the attacking half set her teammates up well, and capped off a good game with a goal in the third.

But it was all Vic Metro in the second half, controlling territory with ease, but simply not able to put its opponent to the sword in front of goal.
Exciting prospects Jasmine Fleming, Reese Sutton and Rylie Willcox each had a big say in Vic Metro's second-half surge, with the former pair combining for 39 disposals and 12 inside 50s and Willcox kicking two goals from her 16 disposals.
Montana Ham was also impressive for the visitors, impacting both through the midfield and up forward, and ended the game with 25 disposals, five marks and a goal.
Both sides will now travel to Victoria to take part in a triple-header on Friday at Avalon Airport Oval. Queensland will take on Vic Country, and Vic Metro will face Western Australia.
